Virtualization technology allows you to consolidate several under utilized units into one physical piece of hardware saving you money in equipment and energy costs. It is also very handy for creating seperate environments for testing new software or possible security risks. Each virtual machine works like a full computer that is completely seperate but runs within a single physical computer.You can even have several different operating systems on the same machine. This can be very handy if you have migrated to Vista but need some aplications that still only run in XP, or for Linux applications on a windows unit.
